On the second day of the third Test of the current five-match series between England and India, Joe Root was removed early by Jasprit Bumrah.
Jasprit Bumrah defeated Root in Test cricket for the eleventh time.
As it crashed into the middle stump, Root’s inside edged a delivery that was bowled just outside the off stump. Apparently, the ball nibbled off the deck. Four overs after he reached his 11th century against India, the wicket was taken on the opening ball of the 88th over of the innings.
Chris Woakes had to step back for a golden duck when Jasprit Bumrah scored again on the following ball. After the UltraEdge displayed a noticeable spike on the TV replays, India’s review proved successful even though the on-field umpire did not initially raise his finger.

On the second day, Woakes was the third wicket to be removed. The first player to return was captain Ben Stokes, who took Bumrah’s second wicket of the Test. Stokes and Root had an 88-run fifth wicket stand before Stokes was removed. India would want to finish the innings as quickly as possible after taking three fast wickets in the morning.
In terms of the series, it is now evenly situated at 1-1. The team coached by Shubman Gill completed an amazing comeback by winning their first-ever Test match at Edgbaston by 336 runs after England won the series opener at Headinley by five wickets.
