Australia is ahead of day five by 333 runs.
Speaking of the MCG Test between India and Australia, the Australians had a terrible start to the second innings after the visitors scored 369 runs in the first. When Steve Smith, Travis Head, Sam Konstas, and Usman Khawaja left early, it was left to Pat Cummins and Marnus Labuschagne.
Australia’s innings was effectively stabilised by both batsmen, with Cummins contributing 41 runs and Labuschagne scoring 70 runs in 139 deliveries. In addition, Australia ended day four with a total of 228 runs at a cost of nine wickets, and Nathan Lyon went undefeated with a score of 41* runs in 54 deliveries. Australia will want to add some runs and put a large total on the board for the visitors to chase after, as they lead the Indian team by 333 runs going into day 5.
