In IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League), teams are still waiting for some of their strike bowlers to return this month. Recent rumours, however, state that the BCCI is delaying both Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep‘s IPL comeback because they wish to progressively increase their workloads.
When fans spotted Jasprit Bumrah bowling in the nets, they took it as a sign that the Indian star pacer would be joining the Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 1. Akash Deep, one of the lead pacers for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was the other bowler anticipated to return at about the same time.
According to reports, the board has postponed the bowlers’ return to minimise any risk, even though they had begun bowling at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. They have not yet bowled at full throttle in the nets. According to reports, Akash Deep may return on April 10 and Bumrah is expected to return by mid-April.
“Jasprit Bumrah has a slightly more severe injury.
The goal of the medical staff is to prevent a stress fracture. Even Bumrah is exercising caution. Although he is bowling at the CoE, it might take him more time to fully recover. There is currently no defined timeframe, but it is hoped that he will return by the middle of April. According to a BCCI source, Akash Deep also intends to return by April 10.
At home, LSG struggles, but MI recovers with their first victory.
Speaking of the LSG and MI squads, LSG recently suffered a lopsided defeat at home against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their most recent encounter. However, following two straight losses at the beginning of their campaign, MI finally opened their account with a victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium.
