Jansen Outperformed Bumrah: Ex-India Star

Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricket player, was direct when he said that Marco Jansen had a greater influence than Jasprit Bumrah during the just finished Test series between South Africa and India. Jansen’s all-around performance in the Guwahati Test earned him the Player of the Match title.

Irfan held Jansen in a higher regard than India’s best Test cricket player. and demonstrated the various ways in which India and South Africa were different.

“Our fast bowlers, who are regarded as the best, really stood out because of the way that Marco Jansen was getting bounce and taking wickets with bouncers. He outperformed Bumrah in terms of impact in both bowling and batting.” In terms of effect and wickets, someone else must be superior to Bumrah if we concur that he is the greatest. We’re lagging somewhat in all areas, whether it’s combinations or skills, so that’s something to consider. In a video posted to his YouTube page, Jansen said, “We were far behind.”

The former all-rounder praised South African Test captain Temba Bavuma before praising Simon Harmer’s changes during the series and the Proteas’ overall performance.

“Look, it’s been 25 years since South Africa defeated us in a home series. And they were in total control. Very admirable. South Africa has won 11 of the last 12 games under Temba Bavuma’s leadership. Yes, Temba, his group is deserving of some recognition in this regard. Although their spinner is good, Harmer’s variations make him stand out. He alternates between bowling quickly and slowly, and he also mixes it up with excellent trajectory. All of this simply illustrates South Africa’s narrative, their upward trajectory, and their progress,” he continued.

Bumrah took eight wickets in successive innings, while Jansen took twelve in four.

He made a crucial 93 in South Africa’s opening innings in Guwahati, and he also made a substantial contribution with the bat. In four innings, Bumrah only managed seven runs, with a maximum of five.

More over 40 years have passed since India last suffered two consecutive home Test series losses. They lost to England in the 1984–85 season and to the West Indies in 1983.
