Jamie Siddons resigns as batting coach for the Bangladesh senior team to join the Bangladesh A Team.

Former Australian cricketer Jamie Siddons has resigned from his position as batting coach for the Bangladesh national cricket team. In February 2022, the Australian returned to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as batting coach. He was the head coach of the Bangladesh cricket team from 2007 to 2011. He will now work with Bangladesh’s A team’s prospective players.

Jamie Siddons announced on May 1 that he would no longer be a member of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He stated, however, that his current concentration will be on developing players outside of the national team. He added that the players who are not on the team are developing daily in preparation for their opportunity to represent their country.

“I’ve returned to Dhaka after a brief absence. Siddons wrote in a Facebook post, “I will no longer be working with the national team as I feel my best value to BCB is working with the next generation to ensure the players just outside the team are well looked after and improving each day in preparation for their next opportunity to play for their country.”

I enjoy teaching young participants the game’s skills: Jamie Siddons

Siddons continued by stating that he and the directors have reached this decision amicably. The 59-year-old also stated that he appreciates coaching young players and that the BCB and he have collaborated to make this possible. He added that he looks forward to working with the A team’s prospective Bangladeshi players.

“I enjoy teaching young players the abilities of the game, so the BCB and I have made it possible! I adore being on the national team, but the majority of my skill development, advancement, and training takes place in the heat and humidity of Mirpur’s practice nets! “I look forward to working with our future A Team and Tigers players,” he added.
