Former England seamer James Anderson recently declared publicly that he loves the action of Australia’s Pat Cummins. He also related an instance where Anderson was able to break out of a lull in his form by imitating Cummins’ action and even getting a wicket.
Without a doubt, Pat Cummins has made a name for himself as one of the world’s most reliable pacers. Additionally, Cummins was the Australian team’s red-ball captain for more than two years and held the top spot in the Test rankings.
James Anderson came forth in a recent interview to disclose that he was told by his countryman Mark Wood to bowl more like Pat Cummins in order to take wickets. He thought back to the scene from the Galle Test in Sri Lanka, when Anderson was quite tense.
“I think Pat Cummins’ action is great. I was feeling very stiff after lunch because there was a Test match in Galle, Sri Lanka. “I’m going to copy Pat Cummins’ action now and try to bowl like him,” I said to Mark Wood at mid-off. James Anderson stated on the Tailenders podcast, “I got a wicket in that over and Woody said, ‘You should bowl like him all the time.”

In addition, James Anderson gave Pat Cummins even more credit, saying that his snappier bowling makes him a much more formidable opponent.
“He has a really good snap. Everything appears to go quickly after he reaches the pinnacle of his performance. He simply snaps through the crease to bowl the ball. I was attempting to replicate that speed because I felt a little stiff and lethargic, and it worked, Anderson said.
It’s important to remember that on July 10, during the Lord’s Test against the West Indies, Anderson will play his 188th and final Test. With more over 700 wickets in his account, the seasoned player only needs nine more to achieve the second-highest total in Test cricket history.
