Ready for the Asia Cup, a rejuvenated Jahanara Alam compliments her coach for the modified action.
Since implementing a revised action prior to the Women’s Asia Cup, fast bowler Jahanara Alam of Bangladesh has made a significant recovery.

With 25 scalps to her credit, the 31-year-old finished as the top wicket-taker in the Dhaka Premier League and looked impressive. She was able to accelerate thanks to the modified action, which is one of the factors contributing to the cricket player’s recent success.

Jahanara acknowledged that coach Muhammad Salahuddin was instrumental in her return to form. After being cut from the national team in May 2023, Salahuddin has been working on her, assisting her in making a global return. In response to her announcement that she had been added to Bangladesh’s Asia Cup squad, the pacer said she was prepared to give 100%.

“All glory to Allah, I have finally rejoined the national team after a gruelling year. I spent nine months training at Masco Academy throughout this time. In an attempt to enhance my performance, Sheikh Salahuddin Sir and the other coaching staff that were present have worked really hard with me, Jahanara stated in a statement released by BCB on Friday, July 12.

Actually, I’ve made an effort to be ready at all times so that I may seize the chance if the women’s national team calls. You could claim that my strong success in the most recent Premier League was a product of my intensive nine-month training programme. I’m feeling extremely good overall because I get to represent Bangladesh once more,” she continued.

Nobody could ever doubt her degree of dedication: Jahanara’s commitment and work are without reproach, according to Salahuddin Coach Salauddin, who praised her. Jahanara’s pace was not up to the level of international cricket, he said, and he was delighted to assist her in improving it. He also mentioned that the pacer can now make an impact at this level.

Salahuddin told Cricbuzz, “No one can question her dedication level because she used to visit here [Masco Academy] regularly, even though it is far from Dhaka, and she did all these things because she wanted to do something better.”

She wasn’t bowling at a fast enough rate to be useful at the international level, so we tried to pick up the pace. In order to improve the ball’s effectiveness and highlight the tactical aspects of her bowling, we also attempted to give her a better game plan,” he continued.
