Ishant Sharma talks about a time when he stopped Virat Kohli to talk to Jasprit Bumrah and Virat said, "Leave him alone. He knows what to do."

Ishant Sharma stopped Kohli so he could talk to Bumrah about how bad he was in the Australia Tests in 2018-19.

Jasprit Bumrah has become one of the best bowlers in the world and the leader of India’s bowling attack in a short amount of time. In 2018, Bumrah had a big year that made him one of the most feared bowlers in Test cricket. That year, the 29-year-old played his first Test match against South Africa.

Bumrah was in great shape, but there was a time during India’s tour of Australia in 2018–19 when the right-arm fast bowler had a bad spell. This made Virat Kohli angry. So, Kohli, who is the captain, wanted to talk to Bumrah about how he did.

Indian bowling is now led by Bumrah, but Ishant Sharma was once the team’s best player, and the veteran pacer has a lot of experience.

Ishant Sharma talked about that event not too long ago. In a conversation with Cricbuzz, he said that he had stopped Kohli from talking to Bumrah after his spell. The 34-year-old told Kohli that he should leave Bumrah alone because he knew what to do.

He knows how to play the game and what’s going on: Ishant Sharma says this about Jasprit Bumrah

Ishant Sharma said this about the incident: “I knew that Bumrah would become a leader one day. In 2018, when we played a Test match in Australia, his first spell did not go well. “I think I should go talk to him,” Virat told me. I told him, “He’s a very good bowler. He understands it. Usko chhor de. Usko pata hai kya karna, kya nehi karna (Leave him alone. He knows what he should do. He is very smart in that way. He knows how to play the game and what’s going on. “It’s easy to make a quick comeback in Test cricket when you know what’s going on.”

After that, Bumrah was the best bowler in the series, taking 21 wickets and even a five-wicket haul as India won a historic Test series in Australia.
