At the Mumbai airport, Ishan Kishan was observed donning a Superman outfit. This is the multidisciplinary response from the Mumbai Indians to players who break the rules. Wearing a superhero costume, Kishan was spotted entering the airport grounds with bags. Notably, he was recently passed up for central contracts by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The southpaw had stated that his inability to play in the South Africa series and the five home Test matches against England was due to mental exhaustion. When they are not occupied with national commitments, players will inevitably participate in domestic games, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah. However, the Patna-born player chose to train with the MI camp instead of the BCCI in front of the Indian Premier League 2024.

MI’s distinctive penal structure attracts attention.
Former skipper Rohit Sharma had earlier disclosed that a custom existed in the MI camp whereby a player would be exposed to a humorous public skit if he disobeyed the rules. Consequently, the player would be amusingly penalised by being dressed as a humorous superhero on their way to their next arrival if they arrive late for meetings or the team bus’s departure. During IPL 2028, the stumper-batter was also treated to the same humorous treatment.
