Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: Ishan Kishan hits 64-ball century against Manipur

In Jharkhand’s second game against Manipur in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024–25 at Dr. Soni Stadium in Jaipur, Ishan Kishan was the team’s hero. The southpaw needed just 64 balls to get a century. Kishan struck at 171.79 before being removed by Kishan Singha, finishing his innings with a total of 134 runs from just 78 deliveries, including 16 fours and six sixes. This innings was sufficient to reach the 254-run total that Manipur had set in just 28.3 overs.

Kishan’s sixth List A century was this one. Even though his 27-run performance in the opening game against Assam may not have been the best start to his tournament, it was sufficient to enhance his reputation as one of the most potent left-handed batsmen in white-ball cricket, with an average of 38.14 and a strike rate of 94.32 in List A cricket.

Ishan Kishan’s IPL future

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, knocks like this could boost Ishan Kishan’s confidence. After seven years of playing for his old team, the Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan had a stellar record and won the IPL twice. Having played in 105 games and amassed 2644 runs at a respectable strike rate of 135.87, he has a respectable tournament record.

However, Kishan was released by the Mumbai team and purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at a high auction for INR 11.25 crore, meaning he will play for SRH the next season. Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, will be his coach. In the Indian Premier League, this will be his third team.
