Ishan Kishan is set to make a comeback to domestic cricket following discussions with selectors and the BCCI

Ishan Kishan, who was excluded from the BCCI‘s central contracts list due to his lack of participation in domestic cricket while away from the national side, will play for his state club, Jharkhand, in the 2019 domestic season.

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has identified the wicketkeeper-batter as one of their 25 pre-season prospects, and he has committed to playing for them in the next season. Kishan is reportedly also slated to captain the team.

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association has listed him as one of the 25 pre-season prospects, and he has agreed to play for the state in the next campaign. reports that he could also be given consideration for a leadership role.

Details are yet unknown, but it is known that Ishan Kishan has notified the state organisation that he is willing to play for the state squad in the upcoming season.

It is known that a number of well-wishers and national selectors allegedly gave Kishan advice, which affected his decision. They emphasised that if he failed to participate in the home cycle, he might have to forgo possibilities to travel abroad at the height of his career.

Shreyas Iyer, one of the other co-exits from the central contract, made an international return with the Sri Lanka trip, while the left-hand batter has been out from the Indian side for nearly a year.

For those who are unaware, Kishan steadfastly refused to participate in the Ranji Trophy 2023–24, even in the face of clear instructions from the board and national selectors. Rather, he made the decision to concentrate solely on the Indian Premier League, training at a Baroda academy. His last match for India was in November 2023. Since leaving the Indian squad in South Africa in December of last year, he has not been included in the national squad.

Kishan will probably see this as a gift in disguise and be motivated to make a big difference to restore his reputation on the global scene.
