During the Indian first innings at the MCG, Australia’s captain Pat Cummins hit Mohammed Siraj with a brilliant yorker on the last delivery of the 119th over. The ball appeared to take an edge in the delivery, and the Australian team began to celebrate as it fell into Steve Smith’s hands at second slip.
The third umpire was mentioned in place of the on-field umpires since there was no clarification for them. The ball struck the bat’s bottom edge and was deemed to have touched the ground by the third umpire upon referral. Cummins, who was disappointed with the ruling, protested with the on-field umpire and tried to get a review.
He was promptly informed, though, that this would not be feasible. Irfan Pathan, a former cricket player for India, was watching the match and made a light-hearted remark about Cummins believing it was 2008.
“Cummins requests that the third umpire’s ruling be reviewed. According to Irfan Pathan, Australia believes that this is 2008, however that is untrue.
Note that Irfan Pathan was alluding to the 2008 India vs. Australia series, in which it was seen that the umpires were biassed in favour of the Australians.

In the second innings, India aims to contain Australia.
Regarding the current fourth Test match between Australia and India, the Indian team managed to score 369 runs in response to Australia’s first innings of 474 runs. Team India has gotten off to a fantastic start in the second innings despite a significant deficit.
Australia’s Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja were promptly dismissed for 8 and 21 runs, respectively, in the opening session. Additionally, in an effort to contain Australia and pursue the aim, Travis Head and Steve Smith also left early.
