On July 13, in Edgbaston, Birmingham, Indian Champions defeated Pakistani Champions by five wickets thanks to a bowling masterclass by Irfan Pathan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 finals.
Irfan Pathan delivered a straight delivery on the stumps in the 12th over of Pakistan’s innings, slicing it between Younis’s pad and bat. Playing around the pitch, the right-handed hitter saw his off-stump tucked in. Irfan gave a loud cheer and pumped his fist, expressing his happiness. The Men in Green lost their fourth wicket for 79 runs at a high-stakes game as the wicket went at a key moment.

The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 competition was a huge success, with spectators witnessing a number of well-known former cricket players compete for the title over ten days. India Champions, who had difficulty early in the competition, eventually overcame their shortcomings to win the trophy in the latter stages of the competition.
On a challenging surface, Pakistan amassed 156/6 after electing to bat first, with Anureet Singh leading the way with three for. As for the bowlers, Irfan was the most economical of the day, finishing with fantastic statistics of 1/12 in his three overs.
In response, Ambati Rayudu ignited his squad as Robin Uthappa and Suresh Raina collapsed cheaply on the other end. In order to calm the tension, Gurkeerat Singh played carefully and put together a partnership of 60 runs with Rayudu. The latter was removed from the game as soon as he reached fifty-five.

Yuvraj Singh, the captain of India, came to the crease and assumed the role of an anchor. Gurkeerat was out for 33 balls and 34 runs, and Yusuf Pathan then joined his skipper in attacking the Pakistani bowlers. With as many balls remaining, the Men in Blue managed to win by five wickets thanks to the right-handed batter’s brilliant knock of 30 off 16 balls.
