For the first ODI against Australia, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has revealed his dream India starting lineup. The first match of the series is set for Sunday, October 19, in Perth, and the Shubman Gill-led team will play three ODIs.
Irfan Pathan selected Rohit Sharma, who was returning, to open with new captain Shubman Gill.
He said that Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul will be in the middle order, and that Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel would be selected as the two all-rounders.
Kuldeep Yadav was assigned as the bowling specialist, while Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh spearheaded the speed attack. Irfan Pathan also argued in favor of Harshit Rana’s inclusion, pointing out the pacer’s superior batting skills.
“Harshit will probably play. In this unit, he is the only bowler who can bat as well. In my opinion, he will be moved up to the eighth spot. In my opinion, he should be the third fast bowler. Irfan Pathan stated on his YouTube channel that it would be a chance for him to perform as well.
Irfan Pathan thinks that with veterans Rohit and Kohli playing, Gill would get a lot of knowledge from the series against Australia.
“A new leader will take charge of India. Shubman Gill will coach them. How respectfully Gill continues to treat Rohit Sharma will be a major problem. This is highly significant. How much juniors respect the seniors will determine a lot. Both Virat and Rohit are respected by Gill, I’m sure. It will be crucial to determine how you can advance Rohit regardless of his performance. It will be difficult both on and off the field,” Irfan Pathan stated.
