The highlight of the Indian team’s performance on the first day of the second Test against South Africa was renowned bowler Mohammed Siraj. After winning the first Test, the Proteas entered the match with much-needed confidence, but that soon evaporated when Siraj assumed the lead. South Africa attempted to set a lofty goal on the scoreboard as they batted first. But the hosts were bowled out for just 55 runs in the opening inning thanks to Siraj’s six-run haul. In nine overs, the 29-year-old claimed six wickets while only giving up 15 runs.
As Siraj wrecked havoc on the Proteas, Irfan Pathan constantly praised his spell. Siraj takes the first wicket on the 20th ball, a massive one for Aiden Markram, after 19 outstanding deliveries. Speaking about the present second Test between South Africa and India, Pathan stated that Siraj was the one who struck the Proteas following Bumrah’s early pressure.
“Dean Elgar was having trouble today, despite having good line and length, and Siraj’s pressure prior to the wicket was the main cause of the wicket,” Irfan Pathan stated.

Approaching Day 2, South Africa seeks to minimize the trail.
Regarding the match, the Proteas were bowled out for just 55 runs in the first innings on Day 1 of the concluding Test match between South Africa and India. The visitors, hoping to score large on the board as well, were unable to do so. With 46 runs in 59 deliveries, star batsman Virat Kohli was India’s top scorer in the first inning. In addition to Shubman Gill’s 36 runs, captain Rohit Sharma scored 39 more runs.
Before being bowled out, the Indian team scored 153 runs in all. Regarding Proteas, Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger, and Kagiso Rabada each claimed three wickets. South Africa lost three wickets at the end of the day’s second innings. Remarkably, interim captain Dean Elgar did not contribute in the second innings despite playing the final over of his Test career. With Aiden Markam and David Bedingham at the crease, South Africa is at 62/3 at stumps on Day 1.
