Prior to the 2024 U19 World Cup, the Ireland U19 Men's side will play three practice matches.

Cape Town, South Africa Prior to their participation in the 2024 ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa later this month, the Ireland Under-19s Men’s squad will play three warm-up matches in Potchefstroom.

The first training session for Ireland’s 15-player squad took place today after they arrived in South Africa.

SCHEDULE OF ALL FIXTURES

Before camp:

Ireland U-19 vs. Zimbabwe U-19 on January 7 at Fanie du Toit Sportsgrounds, North West University. Kickoff is at 9:45 a.m. local time.
8 January: 9.45 a.m. local time: Ireland U-19 vs Zimbabwe U-19 at Fanie du Toit Sportsgrounds, North West University
Ireland U-19 vs. North West Colts, January 11, Fanie du Toit Sportsgrounds, North West University, 9.45 a.m. local time

Official warm-ups for the U19 Men’s World Cup:

The ICC will soon publish Ireland’s schedule for Group A of the U19 Men’s World Cup, which includes two warm-up games on January 14 and 16:

January 19: Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein; Ireland U-19 vs. USA U-19.
Ireland U-19 vs. Bangladesh U-19, January 22, Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein.
Ireland U-19 vs. India U-19, January 25, Bloemfontein’s Manguang Oval.
The Squad

Macdara Cosgrave (Pembroke Cricket Club), Harry Dyer (CSNI Cricket Club), Daniel Forkin (Merrion Cricket Club), Kian Hilton (Cliftonville Academy), Ryan Hunter (CSNI Cricket Club), Philippe le Roux (captain) (Railway Union Cricket Club), Finn Lutton (CSNI Cricket Club), Scott Macbeth (Brigade Cricket Club), Carson McCullough (CIYMS Cricket Club), John McNally (Clontarf Cricket Club), Jordan Neill (Merrion Cricket Club), Oliver Riley (YMCA). Darren Nicol, a physiotherapist, Ollie Kanavan, an analyst, Stuart Thompson, a strength and conditioning coach, Albert van der Merwe, the manager, and Andre Botha, an assistant coach

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The other groups in relation to the tournament are:

Group B: Scotland, South Africa, England, and the West Indies
Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Namibia make up Group C.
Group D: Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and New Zealand.
The top three teams from each group go to the Super Six round of the competition, where each club advances based on the points, wins, and NRR they accrued during their matches against other Super Six qualifying teams. On January 30, the Super Six will begin. The top two teams from each group in the Super Six stage will advance to the semi-finals.
