After the yellow team’s consecutive losses in the 2024 Indian Premier League, veteran Ravindra Jadeja of the Chennai Super Kings brought new vitality and vigor to the group. After winning two straight games to start their title defence, CSK struggled in their next two matches against Delhi and Hyderabad. But when they defeated KKR at Chepauk and got back to winning ways, Jadeja proved to be a spectacular player off the field as well.
MS Dhoni went up the order and provided another spectacle for the spectators as soon as CSK lost their third wicket in their chase of a 138-run mark. Jadeja taunted the supporters by strolling ahead of the former captain, only to hilariously turn around and walk back as the Chepauk crowd went crazy watching Dhoni with the bat.

Even though MS Dhoni just had to field three balls, the crowd gave the hero their loudest cheer of the evening when they welcomed him.
Resuming the game, CSK made a good assessment of the field conditions at the toss and decided to bowl first. Jadeja, the night’s hero, took three vital wickets by slinging the web around the KKR batting lineup while remaining incredibly thrifty.

To make matters worse for KKR, Jadeja sent back Ventakesh Iyer in the ninth over after dismissing the dangerous-looking Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the previous over. To be in the limelight the entire time, the all-rounder also made two crucial catches. Jadeja was appropriately named player of the match in CSK’s seven-wicket victory, as he scored three hundred and eighteen runs in four overs.
“I always like bowling with these kinds of tracks.” I was merely trying to bowl in favorable venues. I’ve been practicing a lot here; it helps to bowl in favorable spots. It takes some time for the visiting team to organize and make plans. It was hard for them to get here and recognize the surface. After winning Player of the Match, Jadeja remarked, “We know the conditions very well.”
