The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025’s Match No. 58, which was scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, was anticipated to pit Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, the match was called off without a toss because of the heavy rain.
Ultimately, the match ended with both teams splitting a point each. Even though RCB increased their prospects of making the playoffs, KKR, the reigning champions, are now the fourth team to be eliminated from the qualification competition this season. Right now, RCB leads the IPL 2025 points table.
In honour of Virat Kohli’s first professional match following his Test retirement, the Chinnaswamy supporters had dressed in white jerseys and arrived for the game fully prepared. They were unable to see their favourite player, Kohli, take the pitch, though. Another question that now comes up is whether or not RCB will provide ticket holders who attended this match a refund.
Will the fans receive their money back?
Indeed. For those who are unsure if they will receive a complete refund for their ticket, RCB has formally released an update. Only the face amount of the ticket price will be reimbursed; any taxes or convenience fees paid to purchase the tickets, whether online or offline, cannot be refunded.
“All valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund as the game between RCB and KKR on May 17, 2025, was abandoned due to inclement weather,” the team announced on social media on Sunday, May 18.
How do digital or online ticket holders go about getting their money back?
Refunds for tickets purchased online or through digital means must be issued by May 31, 2025, at the latest. They must email the official ticket provider (refund@ticketgenie.in) to file a claim if they do not receive their refund.
How do holders of physical or offline tickets get their money back?
According to the same announcement, individuals who have a physical ticket must pick up their reimbursement from the same location. RCB went on to clarify that those who received free passes for the game would not be eligible for any kind of reimbursement.
