Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals, is one of the select few coaches who has guided several teams to championships during his career after retiring from international competition. His current IPL 2025 tenure with RR hasn’t been great, either, as the team has already been knocked out of the playoffs.
Fans and others are curious to see what Rahul Dravid truly writes down in the notebook he always has with him as he takes notes on important points from the match’s progress while the players are busy practicing on the pitch. He just keeps track of the game’s scorecard, which makes it easier for him to evaluate the performance.
The Indore native claims that watching the game over and over again allows him to examine it from his own point of view while still making it understandable to everyone.
Rahul Dravid has finally disclosed what he writes down at the dugout, spilling the beans on the same.
“I have a certain method for scoring in both one-day and Twenty20 matches. I simply score it in a certain way, which really aids in my game review. I may therefore view a scorecard, but I just rate it in a way that I find very convenient and pleasant so that I can review it without consulting the scorecard. After a game, there are moments when you want to sit back in your room and reflect on what transpired during that over or during a specific period of the game,” he told Star Sports.
It’s a straightforward score, then. It’s not complicated. It’s not too difficult. There are no lofty truths or anything of the sort that I am writing. To be honest, it’s as dull or stupid as you can describe it—just scoring the game in a certain way that makes it simpler for me to remember it. The former India head coach continued, “I’m not really writing actual incidents or stuff, but it’s more of a score and it keeps me involved first, and then, as I said, it allows me to go back and review it a bit.”
