Cameron Green, an Australian all-rounder, may fetch the highest price in the forthcoming Indian Premier League mini-auction, according to Aakash Chopra. The Perth native has formerly played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). After sustaining a lower-spine fracture during the September white-ball tour of England, he was excluded from the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Since recovering from the injury, Green has been in incredible batting form, and Aakash Chopra noted that he will soon begin bowling. The former India opener believes that teams will spend a fortune to hire the all-round player for the 2026 IPL season.
“I think Cameron Green might be the most costly player up for auction. His batting form is already amazing since his injury recovery. Although he is not yet prepared, he will eventually begin bowling. In a video posted on his YouTube account, Aakash Chopra stated, “At the moment, he is batting in the top order because he is not bowling.”
“He could really blow the bank if he begins bowling, especially given his batting prowess. A lot of money will be spent on him. I feel that way. Thus, Cameron Green may be the beneficiary of this auction,” he continued.
With its foreign recruitment, the Mumbai Indians will need to be a little more patient: The five-time champion Mumbai Indians were praised by Aakash Chopra for identifying several gifted cricket players ahead of other IPL clubs. Cameron Green, Tim David, Tristan Stubbs, and Dewald Brevis were among those he cited.
Aakash Chopra advised the team captained by Hardik Pandya to be a little more patient with their foreign players.
“Everyone is figured out ahead of time by the Mumbai Indians. I’ll give you four names of people they had but released. Could the handling of the foreign players have been better, then? In a single year, they had Tim David, Cameron Green, Tristan Stubbs, and Dewald Brevis. “These four players were in the squad with them, and now not a single one is there,” he remarked.
Although the Mumbai Indians have a long history of identifying potential, they would undoubtedly like to make one adjustment. Perhaps they will need to be a little more patient with their foreign recruits, particularly the greenhorns they catch, just like they are with Indian talent. Aakash Chopra noted, “You let them go as little stones, but they slowly get carved, and then they become a crowning jewel in somebody’s crown.”
