Yuzvendra Chahal, a recent addition to the Punjab Kings, identified two of the hardest batsmen he has ever bowled to. The Indian Premier League’s top wicket-taker revealed two hitters that he found “challenging” to bowl to.
He gave an explanation of why he thought Nicholas Pooran and Heinrich Klaasen were strong batters. He did, however, add that he has never been intimidated by the size of the batter he faces.
Nicholas Pooran and Heinrich Klaasen are two examples. Even the edges can go for sixes at times because of their immense power. It is they who present difficulties. I have performed well against them and gone for sixes. However, I don’t glance at the name when I bowl. You will feel pressured when you consider their reputation. They have the bat; I have the ball. I must prevail in the conflict. I’m not particularly broad or 6’5″. For me, my mind is everything. Mera sab kuch mind pe hai. According to the Hindustan Times, Chahal said, “I always focus on that.”
Bowling on smaller fields is no longer a source of fear: Yuzvendra Chahal
The cunning leg-spinner also revealed that the ground’s dimensions no longer influence his mentality.
Because bats are becoming larger and more powerful and wickets are becoming flatter, ground dimensions have become a significant factor. However, I enjoy taking on new tasks. The concern of bowling on smaller grounds has vanished for me since I have been bowling at Chinnaswamy for eight years,” Chahal continued.
In the IPL, Chahal leads the wicket-taking table with 205 wickets in 159 innings. During his eight-year tenure with RCB, he took the majority of his wickets while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Chahal will play in the prestigious T20 tournament for the thirteenth time in the IPL 2025. Many people are counting on him to have the kind of season that PBKS does.
