During Thursday, March 27’s Indian Premier League Match 7 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Prince Yadav recently got rid of the intimidating-looking Travis Head. It is noteworthy that Travis Head was the promising quick’s first IPL wicket.
Prince’s claim to fame was a historic Delhi Premier League season in which he took 13 wickets in 10 innings. The right-armer played for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024–25 and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Prince took 11 wickets in eight Twenty20 matches for Delhi, giving up just 7.54 runs per over. With an average of 22 and 11 wickets in six innings, he became Delhi’s top wicket-taker in the VHT.
Following these performances, he was purchased by LSG at the two-day mega auction in Jeddah last November for INR 30 lakh. Notably, Prince Yadav played net bowling for the LSG in 2023. On March 24, he made his debut in LSG’s matchup with the Delhi Capitals. It was a game to forget, though. Prince’s four-over quota saw him give up 47 runs.
The outcome of Prince Yadav second game was considerably better.
In the end, he gave up just 29 runs in his four overs. For his side, Head’s dismissal was a real turning point. Throughout his tenure, he gave up just two fours against a strong SRH batting order.
Prince has only participated in two First-Class cricket matches. In the red-ball format, he has only been able to take one wicket. But when it comes to any of the white-ball variations, Prince appears to be an intriguing prospect. How he performs for LSG for the rest of the season will be intriguing to watch.
