Rinku Singh has talked candidly about his job as a finisher, staying calm, and concentrating on his physical condition. Speaking about his role as a batter for Uttar Pradesh, KKR, and India, the great player acknowledged that he feels very comfortable batting at numbers five and six. Rinku also emphasised how important it is to maintain your fitness over a lengthy competition like the Indian Premier League, where you must play 14 games only in the league round.
“I’ve batted at No. 5 or 6 for UP and the IPL, so I’m accustomed to it. I put a lot of effort into staying healthy because I have 14 IPL matches to play, so it’s my duty to take care of my body and recuperate properly,” Rinku Singh told JioHotstar.
The KKR player also discussed how MS Dhoni influenced his batting. He stated that he talks to Dhoni frequently and that he advises him to maintain composure and play the game as it is.
“I also talk to Mahi Bhai a lot; he advises me to maintain composure and play the way the game calls for it. When you remain calm, everything falls into place,” the KKR batter continued.
I pay special attention to Russell: Rinku Singh
Rinku added that he has become more adept at batting near the end of the inning as a result of closely watching players like Andre Russell.
“Ever since I began participating in the IPL, I’ve been studying. I pay great attention to Russell’s batting technique in the latter overs and how he generates power with his body. I continue to observe and learn from him,” Rinku Singh continued.
Rinku believes that a target of 300 being hit and pursued should not come as a surprise because such scores have become the norm in the last two IPL seasons.
“Yes, we are capable. Even 300 runs can now be scored in the IPL; last year, Punjab had to chase 262 runs. Anyone can reach 300 because every team is playing well this season,” Rinku Singh said.
