IPL 2025: LSG players celebrate Mohun Bagan Super Giants on their ISL victory

The Mohun Bagan Super Giants won their second Indian Super League championship in 2024–2025, and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players congratulated them on their victory. The winning football team in the ISL, the nation’s largest football league, was praised by the cricketing stars of the Lucknow-based team.

It’s interesting to note that RPSG Group, the owners of the LSG team in the IPL, also owns the winning football team. After winning 17 of its 24 games in the just finished season, the well-liked football team eventually faced the fierce Bengaluru City FC in the grand finale on Saturday, April 12 at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium.

The popular sports were brought together as LSG captain Rishabh Pant acknowledged the achievement and praised the team, sending their warmest regards to the club. Pant also acknowledged Sanjiv Goenka, the team’s owner.

In an X (formerly Twitter) video, Pant congratulated Mohun Bagan and Sanjeev sir on their incredible triumph at the ISL Cup.

In the same video, LSG pacer Akash Deep congratulated Pant on winning the ISL Trophy.

The Lucknow franchise appears to be doing well.

Although the Mohun Bagan team had a great season, LSG also appears poised to take home the trophy in the lucrative competition. In the six games the team has played, they have won four and lost just two. When they met the Gujarat Titans in their most recent game, they won by a final margin of six wickets.

The squad will face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their upcoming matchup, and they are presently ranked third in the IPL 2025 points standings. They intend to carry on their successful tournament run and, ideally, replicate the football club’s achievements.
