On Wednesday, May 7, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square off in a pivotal Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match at Eden Gardens. KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit seems optimistic about his team’s ability to block out the noise from MS Dhoni‘s Kolkata-based supporters ahead of the high-stakes match. The stalwart may be making his final appearance at the legendary stadium.
KKR is in the running to qualify for the playoffs, while CSK has already been eliminated and is only playing for pride.
With victories in their final three games, they could advance to the second round of the 10-team competition, where they currently have 11 points from as many games.
“I believe that every player and every squad is constantly focused on their own game during these kind of games. “There are instances when a batter is batting and there is a lot of noise around, and if you ask him, he’s likely to say, ‘I didn’t hear anything about it,'” Pandit said the night before their game against CSK.
“I used to experience the same thing when people told me that there was a lot of noise around and that it was difficult to concentrate. Sometimes, though, we simply ignore that noise on autopilot. Therefore, if you ask me, it doesn’t really matter when you are concentrated on the game,” he continued.
Feeling no pressure at all: Chandrakant Pandit
Pandit stated that his team is not under any pressure, even though KKR cannot afford to lose points at this time in the competition. In the upcoming three games, he hoped the players will be able to live up to their promise.
“I’m feeling the pressure, but not really. I have no desire to return. Despite our constant belief that we had the best batting lineup, it didn’t work out. “I hope it does justice in the upcoming three games,” Pandit remarked.
“We are aware of each player’s skill level. We have faith in them. “You have to give them a lot of confidence and make sure they believe in themselves in order to maintain that,” he continued.
