The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has denied the allegations made by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team management, who sent an email to the organisation threatening to withdraw from the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad because of wrongdoing by cricket board members.
In a press release, the association stated, “The Apex Council explains that A. Jagan Mohan Rao, President, HCA, did not personally request that 3900 tickets per match be blocked for his purchase and reiterates the discussions held on 19.02.2025, wherein the President has made a request on behalf of the Apex Council’s proposal to provide the tickets to the Club Secretaries.”
It also stated, “It is unfair of you to make false accusations against the President of HCA.
We ask all SRH officials to come forward with an open mind in order to fully resolve all outstanding issues.”
SRH requested that the BCCI and the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council step in and put an end to the HCA’s “blackmailing tactics” on Sunday, March 30. However, the cricket organisation has refuted all of SRH’s accusations.
The dispute began when HCA members “threatened” SRH by requesting additional free passes to the IPL matches in Hyderabad. On the day of the SRH vs. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) game, it is also said that the HCA representatives locked up the box, which infuriated SRH even more.
On Sunday, April 6, SRH will play the Gujarat Titans (GT) at home.
