Following a floodlight failure, the IPL 2025 match between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, match number 58, has been cancelled due to a technical issue.
Fans have been ordered to leave HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala, the game’s location, while specifics of the situation are still being worked out.
One of the most beautiful stadiums in the nation, Dharamshala, was unable to host a whole match on Thursday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India issued an apology, expressing remorse for the inconvenience the game brought to all of the spectators. However, as the game is probably going to be rescheduled at a later time, the points have not yet been disclosed.
Although the organisers’ official statement indicates a technical malfunction, board vice president Rajeev Shukla’s media appearance raises questions about potential safety.
“To ensure everyone gets home safely, we are setting up a special train from near Dharamshala. The stadium has been evacuated and the game has been cancelled as of right now. Depending on the circumstances tomorrow, we will make a decision regarding the tournament’s future. Right now, the safety of the players comes first. The circumstances prevented the game from continuing tonight. Shukla stated, “It wasn’t safe,” according to The Times of India.
