The Delhi Capitals’ bowling coach, Munaf Patel, was fined 25% of his match fees and received one demerit point for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Wednesday’s game against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Munaf Patel accepted the Match Referee’s sentence after acknowledging committing the Level 1 infraction under Article 2.20, which deals with behaviour that goes against the spirit of the game.
The Match Referee’s ruling is definitive and enforceable for Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct.
Munaf might not be entirely upset by the harsh penalty because his team’s bowlers performed admirably in the exciting draw with the Rajasthan Royals. First, the game ended in a stalemate because the Delhi Capitals prevented the Rajasthani batsmen from surpassing their first innings total. Mitchell Starc, a pacer, later produced a game-winning Super Over, allowing just 11 runs in his turn, which the hosts managed to chase down with a ball to spare.

Starc won Player of the Match for his precise line and lengths and controlled bowling, despite taking just one wicket in the first innings. The Australian pacer received praise for his accurate yorkers, particularly in the closing stages, which prevented the Sanju Samson-led team from scoring runs easily.
