As the eagerly anticipated 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) competition begins on Saturday, March 22, the league is beckoning.
The recuperation of their pacers, Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Mohsin Khan, has been closely monitored by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), one of the newest teams in the league. Notably, the BCCI Centre of Excellence’s (formerly NCA) fitness clearance is required before the pace trio may play in the 2025 Indian Premier League. The cricket players have not yet met the requirements to compete in the ten-team franchise championship and are still undergoing rehabilitation.
However, Cricbuzz reports that at least a few pacers would soon receive a green light from the board and join the LSG camp in Lucknow. For the record, Mayank has been out ever since suffering a setback to a back injury during his first international series against Bangladesh. Conversely, Avesh, who was born in Indore, has been having trouble with his landing foot knee.
To begin IPL 2025, LSG will play the Capitals.
After qualifying for two of the three editions they have competed in so far, the Lucknow squad will be looking for a quick recovery in order to win their first championship. The club will play the Delhi Capitals in the most recent edition, which will serve as both teams’ tournament opening. The Capitals will host a few games this season in Visakhapatnam, where the game will take place on Monday, March 24.
Star cricketers KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have switched teams from the previous editions, making their initial matchup sure to be exciting. In addition to Pant, who had long served as captain of the Delhi team, Rahul had previously commanded LSG for all three of their seasons. Pant became the most expensive footballer ever to be auctioned off when LSG purchased him for an incredible INR 27 crore. This year, he will also serve as the team’s captain.
