Digvesh Rathi of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was fined 50% of his match fees for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Monday’s encounter between his team and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
In addition to the three Demerit Points he had previously accrued—one against the Punjab Kings on April 1, 2025, and two against the Mumbai Indians on April 4, 2025—he has now accrued two more since this was his third Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season.
Digvesh will now be punished for LSG’s upcoming game against Gujarat Titans on May 22, 2025, in Ahmedabad, since he has now reached five Demerit points this season, which entails a one-game suspension.
The Match Referee’s ruling is definitive and enforceable for Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct.
During Sunrisers Hyderabad’s encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants on Monday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Abhishek Sharma, an all-rounder, was fined 25% of his match earnings for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
He has accrued one Demerit Point because this was his first Level 1 infraction under Article 2.6 this season.
