IPL 2024: Virat Kohli outlines the differences between IPL and ICC competitions

Virat Kohli stated that one of his favorite things about the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the chance to play with new players and get to know players from different nations.

Since the IPL’s launch in 2008, the renowned cricket player has represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After missing the current five-match Test series between India and England, he is expected to make a comeback to competitive cricket during the 17th edition of the lucrative league. At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, March 22, Bangalore will take on the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Because they get to watch the two idols of Indian cricket, MS Dhoni and Kohli, square off against one another, the CSK vs. RCB match in the IPL is always special for the fans. The Delhi batsman gave an explanation of why he and everyone else enjoy the Indian Premier League before the much-awaited match.

“I really adore the Indian Premier League, partly due to the friendships you have with so many new players and the numerous players you’ve known for a long time but who are not from your home country and whom you don’t see very often. Everyone enjoys the Indian Premier League (IPL) so much because there is a bond between the players and the fans, he told Star Sports.

It’s the beauty of the IPL to meet every team just every second or third day. Virat Kohli

The former India captain emphasized a number of differences between the IPL and ICC events. According to Kohli, because teams are playing more matches during the season, players from other teams are easily accessible.

“You participate in every competition where teams compete against one another. There are occasionally international competitions (ICCs), but even in these events, players rarely connect with one another or meet the opposing squad,” the man stated.

“The beauty of the IPL, though, is that you’re probably going to see every team every other day or two. You and your squad are playing in different cities and weather conditions. “Magical moments are being created and at different stages of the tournament, everyone has a different kind of determination,” he continued.

The batter with the charm had a fantastic season at bat last year. At a 53.25 average and 139.82 strike rate, he scored 639 runs. During the competition, he scored two centuries and five fifties. But because they placed sixth in the standings, Bangalore was unable to go to the postseason. Kohli wants to match or surpass his performance from the previous year in order to help the Royal Challengers win their first-ever IPL championship.
