The 51st IPL 2024 match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik Pandya, the MI captain, won the toss and decided to bowl first against the formidable KKR. The Kolkata Knight Riders scored 169 runs and were dismissed in 19.5 overs. But in just 18.5 overs, all 145 runs was all that the Mumbai Indians could muster.
For the first time in twelve years, KKR defeated MI at Wankhede Stadium. Both sides lost early wickets in the contest, making it hard to predict who would win. It was an exciting match. The NRR keeps the Kolkata Knight Riders in second place after the Rajasthan Royals, following their victory today. The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have lost 8 of the 11 games they have played in the IPL 2024, ending any chance of making the playoffs.

2. The burning Mitchell Starc
The most expensive IPL 2024 bidder, an Australian left-arm fast bowler, has been playing fantastically this season. In Friday’s match 51 against the Mumbai Indians, he grabbed 4 wickets while conceding 33 runs in 3.5 overs with an economy of 8.61. With an economy of 11.40, Mitchell Starc has claimed 11 wickets in 9 games. Prior to the 2024 T20 World Cup, he performed admirably.

3. KKR spinners are entangling MI batsmen.
MI batsmen were unable to chase the score because of the excellent spin of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine of the Kolkata Knight Riders. They took four wickets in eight overs, conceding 44 runs, cramping the MI batters. At the Wankhede Stadium, they were playing at their best against the Indians. Since the spinners’ previous victory against the Indians was in 2012, they should also receive recognition for defeating MI at home.

4. Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 defeat in yet another game
This IPL season, a batting lineup like the Mumbai Indians, with players like Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Rohit Sharma, who was also the game’s impact player, in the lineup, has not been able to perform well. Even with dew, they were unable to chase a target of 170 runs. Since the duel is in the second inning and the bowl does not rotate, they may have taken advantage of it.
