IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants 2nd innings highlights against CSK in Match 39
After his choice to bowl first backfired, KL Rahul was left shaking his head. In just 20 overs, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) amassed a huge 210/4 thanks to the second IPL century from Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shivam Dube struck 66 runs off just 27 balls, including 3 fours and 7 sixes, demonstrating his destructive batsmanship. This knock coincided with the Indian selectors’ imminent meeting to choose the team for the ICC T20 World Cup.

With 1/28 from his four overs, Matt Henry was the visitor’s most economical bowler. Shivam Dube targeted both of the LSG pacers, Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur, who both took wickets but were destroyed for large sums of runs.

Lucknow Super Giants: 45/2 (6 overs) in the powerplay

Quinton de Kock was out for a duck after dragging the ball back onto his stumps with 211 to win. Then, Mustafizur Rahman took his first wicket of the day after KL Rahul gave easy catch to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

LSG: fifty runs in six overs

In order to prevent LSG hitters from escaping their leash, Chennai Super Kings bowlers tightened their grip. For a few overs, the boundaries dried up, making things difficult for Marcus Stoinis and Devdutt Padikkal.

Marcus Stoinis: 56 off of 26 balls

Marcus Stoinis displayed his muscles following his observation of Gaikwad and Dube sending their bowlers to be cleaned. As the Australian player reached his ninth fifty in the IPL, he was in a punishing frame of mind.

Lucknow Super Giants lead by 78/2 after 9 overs at the first strategic timeout.

The LSG team management had high hopes for KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock to continue their winning ways from the previous game. Devdutt Padikkal and Marcus Stoinis was the ones who kept them in the game until the first time out without any more losses after the two batters fell foul.

100 runs from 12.2 overs, LSG

After battling for 19 balls, Matheesha Pathirana bowled Devdutt Padikkal for 13 runs, which continued his miserable season. The only other player who was observed fighting with the bat was Marcus Stoinis, who persisted.

150 runs from 15.3 overs for the Lucknow Super Giants

In his first three balls of the sixteenth over, Shardul Thakur was hammered for sixteen runs. The Caribbean batsman Nicholas Pooran developed a fondness for the Indian player when the 150 runs were being scored.

LSG is 157/3 after 16 overs at the second strategic timeout.

Pooran’s attack on the opposition bowlers altered the game’s flow. The dew on the pitch contributed to the ball’s difficulty in gripping. Marcus Stoinis kept the score ticking with few boundaries, but he maintained one end tight.

Marcus Stoinis: sixty-six off fifty-six

Marcus Stoinis put in a lot of effort and performed a star performance while LSG continued to lose wickets at one end. To keep his club in the running for a historic victory at Chepauk Stadium, the Australian produced his first-ever century in the IPL.

Lucknow Super Giants: 213/4 from 19.3 overs at the end of the game

The last equation involved Mustafizur bowling and 17 runs needed from six deliveries. However, Stoinis struck the first two balls for a lot of runs, and the Australian finished with three balls remaining.
