IPL 2024 is scheduled to start on March 22 and end on May 26, according to reports.

Before revealing the dates for the 17th Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still working out the last few details. The final is expected to be played on May 26, five days before the commencement of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the West Indies and the United States of America. As previously reported, the governing body plans to begin the proceedings on March 22.

Only until the election dates are published can the schedule be confirmed. Officials from the BCCI are optimistic that India would host the competition for the whole duration, particularly given its performance in 2019. However, in the unlikely event that the management chooses to hold part of the league in another nation, several nations have already contacted BCCI with offers to host the next edition of the lucrative tournament.

On March 11, the five-match Test series between India and England will conclude. The cricket players are then anticipated to take a sabbatical before reporting to their individual teams. The players’ ability to regulate their workload may be compromised by playing a minimum of 14 games, particularly with the T20 World Cup quickly approaching.

Notably, before the IPL concludes, a few of the international cricket players may choose to withdraw and rejoin the national team.

Nonetheless, BCCI has been reassured by the cricket boards that the players will be accessible until the final. However, if the players choose to reduce their workload in advance of the major competition, the decision could be reversed.

It is anticipated that the Women’s Premier League would launch on February 22.

Conversely, the Women’s Premier League’s second season is anticipated to start on February 22 and conclude on March 17, five days before the 2024 Indian Premier League. The league’s matches will all be held in Delhi and Bengaluru, as the official announcement is quickly approaching. Conversely, it is anticipated that the cricket players would report to their various camps during the second week of February.
