The Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya, has been fined for his team’s sluggish over rate in their May 17 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 matchup against the Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Under the IPL’s Code of Conduct regarding minimum over rate offences, Hardik Pandya team committed its third offence of the season. As a result, he was fined INR 30 lakh and prohibited from participating in the club’s next game. Each of the remaining players in the playing XI, including the Impact Player, received a fine of INR 12 lakh or half of their individual match fees, whichever was lower.
Surprisingly, the Mumbai Indians have concluded their IPL 2024 season, and it is certain that neither Hardik Pandya nor MI will be playing any further games this year. There’s a catch, though. Regardless of the team he plays for, the star cricket player will be banned for one match and will not be allowed to participate in the next IPL 2025 tournament.

However, when they select their players for the 2025 edition, the franchise will be hoping for a new start in the tournament.
