Sadaf Shamas was removed from the 15-man lineup due to an unfortunate injury, even though Pakistan Women had already announced their team for the forthcoming three-T20I tour of Ireland. Shawaal Zulfiqar has been accepted by the Fatima Sana-led team as Sadaf Shamas’ substitute for the away series in Ireland.
During one of her home training sessions prior to the series, Sadaf Shamas tore her left quadriceps muscles.
Shawaal, who is an opening batswoman, will now have the chance to demonstrate her abilities abroad and will join the team in Ireland on Sunday. Her final Twenty20 International participation was in December 2023, marking her return to the team after a 19-month break.
Pakistan’s squad for the Ireland T20Is has been amended.
