Twitter Reactions: India's win Women's U19 T20 Asia Cup title by beating Bangladesh clearly in final

India’s won the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup on Sunday, December 22, at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, defeating Bangladesh by a total of 41 runs.

In the crucial final, Sumaiya Akter, the captain of Bangladesh, made a courageous decision by winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Even while India continued to lose wickets at the other end, Gongadi Trisha started the batting and amassed a calm 52 from 47 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. Mithila Vinod had a significant cameo at the bottom of the order, helping India reach the three-figure milestone with her 17 off 12 balls.

Farjana Easmin, who finished with stats of 4/31 in four overs, was the best bowler for Bangladesh. With a respectable score of 117/7 in 20 overs, India concluded their innings. Trisha became the tournament’s top run scorer with her half-century.

Bangladesh’s response got off to a terrible start when they lost Mosammat Eva’s wicket in the second over. After Sumaiya Akther also left cheaply, fellow opener Fahomida Choya attempted to regain the ship. When Sonam Yadav defeated Choya in the eighth over, she made a significant breakthrough.

Bangladesh’s hopes were maintained by wicketkeeper-batter Juairiya Ferdous, who played a cautious performance with a 30-ball 22. However, Bangladesh lost half of their team for 64 runs when she was removed in the 15th over. When Ferdous was removed, they needed 54 runs from the final 34 deliveries to win. On a challenging surface, this proved to be too much to do, as the final five Bangladeshi wickets were taken for a mere 12 runs.

India won by a commanding 41-run margin after Bangladesh was bowled out for 76 in 18.3 overs. In her 3.3 overs, Aayushi Shukla claimed three wickets for 17 runs. Sonam and Parunika Sisodia, meanwhile, made contributions by each taking two wickets. India became the first champions thanks to a single wicket from VJ Joshitha as well.

Here’s how ‘X’ users reacted to India’s win:
