India's poor batting performance in the U-19 World Cup final is examined by captain Uday Saharan.

India lost the Under-19 World Cup final against Australia by 79 runs due to a poor batting effort.

The Kangaroos struggled to get going as they batted first, but Hugh Weibgen, Harjas Singh, and Oliver Peake rose to the challenge and helped Australia score 253 runs in the opening half.

As they got closer, Mahli Beardman and Callum Vidler became enraged with the Men in Blue. At Willowmoore Park in Benoni, Beardman took three wickets and Vidler took two to unsettle India’s top order. After taking a couple of fast wickets, India reached 55/3 before reaching 91/6. Only Adarsh Singh, the opener, and Murugan Abhishek had some mettle, but neither player was able to lead India home.

Captain Uday Saharan claimed, after a devastating loss, that the middle-order batters’ reckless shots cost them the game. The 19-year-old said the lads didn’t perform well in the midst of the game despite their good preparation for the championship.

That was alright. We were unable to spend any time on the surface after playing a few shots. Despite our preparation, we were unable to perform effectively. ESPNcricinfo cited Saharan as stating, “That’s where we went wrong.”

“The boys played really well, and I am really proud of them. The squad had a strong sense of resolve from the beginning to the conclusion. He continued, “They played really well, and I’m happy for them.

Many things have been learned: Uday Saharan

Being the top run scorer at the Under-19 World Cup, Saharan said his squad gained a lot of knowledge from the competition. In the future, the cricket player from Rajasthan hopes to improve upon these lessons and become a better version of himself.

From the beginning to the present, there have been several lessons learned. In addition to what I learned from the staff, I also learned a great deal throughout the game. Saharan stated, “All I want to do is take what I’ve learned from this tournament and go forward in my career.”
