Prior to their Asia Cup debut, former Australia hitter Matthew Hayden analyzed India’s strategy for dealing with Pakistan’s fast bowling attack. On Saturday, September 2, the bitter rivals will face off at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

In order to combat Pakistan’s deadly bowling attack by Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah, according to Hayden, India will need to implement various game plans. Hayden also mentioned Shaheen’s performance during the 2022 T20 World Cup and what captain Rohit Sharma must do to fend off the pacer’s attack.

“India is up against the speed trio of Pakistan. I can assure you that this is one of the spiciest tournaments ever. We have Naseem, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi. Three extremely different bowlers with distinctive bowling styles necessitate specific plans from Team India. First off, keep in mind that Haris Rauf in particular needs to be cautious because the conditions in Kandy have a tendency to bounce quite a bit. According to Hayden on Star Sports, he’ll want to hustle in and strike the top of the off stump.

“In order to defeat Shaheen Afridi, you must use caution. In the most recent World Cup, Shaheen was successful in getting early wickets. So proceed with a little caution when dealing with Shaheen Afridi after the ball he bowled to captain Rohit Sharma. Look to play out those first three overs if it’s swinging, he said.

India will likely prevail, in my opinion. Matthew Hayden

Hayden continued by saying that Rohit and company must play aggressively in order to put Naseem on the defensive. In addition, Hayden predicted that the Men in Blue would defeat Pakistan by two points, pointing out that they have a strong batting lineup and players who are in good form.

“I believe that with Naseem, despite the fact that he will shape the ball, Pakistan can be in a position to move forward even if India is able to remove them from play by using aggressive moves against someone like Naseem. Put him under pressure to make him feel that the game is in your favor. All things considered, though, I predict that Team India will prevail. He continued, They have a deeper, more impressive hitting order, and they appear to be in good condition.
