The Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) preparations are well underway. But Vaibhav Suryavanshi, their youngest player, is the center of attention. During one of the practice sessions, the 13-year-old batting prodigy showed off his amazing power-hitting abilities.
The Royals paid INR 1.1 crore for Suryavanshi, making him the youngest cricket player ever selected at an IPL auction. He is now one of the guys to keep an eye on because of his participation in the squad. The Southpaw, meanwhile, displayed his aggressive batting approach during RR’s practice session by blasting several deliveries over the boundary ropes.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi exudes confidence: Sanju
In order to help the young player adjust to IPL cricket, RR management and teammates have been outspoken about the need to provide a nurturing environment. The youthful player’s batting prowess was also praised by captain Sanju Samson.
“At the Rajasthan Royals Academy, Vaibhav was hitting sixes out of the ground and exuded confidence.” His use of force was already being discussed. What more is there to ask for? It all comes down to recognizing his advantages, supporting him, and being there for him like a big brother. At the Rajasthan Royals, we support our players and make sure the locker room is a happy place. He seems ready for the IPL, in my opinion. “He appears capable of throwing a few good punches here and there,” Sanju Samson stated during a JioHotstar special.
In a four-day match in Chennai last year, the Bihar batsman opened the batting against Australia Under-19 and hit a ton. He has previously played for India Under-19. He has scored 100 runs in five first-class appearances thus far. His century off just 58 balls versus Australia U-19 was the high point of his career to date. He became the youngest player in youth cricket history to score a century with that knock.
