The commonly stated advice to “enjoy responsibly” should unquestionably be sincerely understood and scrupulously followed. Moments after India triumphantly ended their 11-year ICC title drought in Barbados, defeating South Africa by a tight seven runs, this idea was starkly reminded. That being said, the incident happened in Queensbury, USA, about 6500 km away, nowhere close to Barbados.
An Indian flag was being attempted to be attached to a pole at the Queensbury Underground Station entrance by a man. Unsettling video, courtesy of The Sun, seems to show that someone else was assisting him prior to his abrupt fall. Ten or so people on the ring below ran to the edge when they saw the man lose his balance and fall into a crowd of cricket supporters below.

An envoy for the London Ambulance Service stated that they were contacted in the evening about the Queensbury Station Parade incident. Ambulance crews, a paramedic in a quick response vehicle, an emergency response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance were among the many resources that were swiftly sent to the area. The LAS treated the man on the scene initially before rushing him to a major trauma facility, according to the spokeswoman.

We received a call of an incident on Queensbury Station Parade at 7:36 p.m. on June 29, Saturday. We dispatched an incident response officer, paramedics in quick response cars, and ambulance crews to the area. We sent out London’s Air Ambulance as well. As a priority, we treated the man on the spot before transferring him to a major trauma facility,” a London Ambulance Service representative said, as reported by The Sun.
About the game, India beat South Africa in a match where it seemed the Proteas would win. However, in the closing moments, Jasprit Bumrah and company turned the tide decisively, with Suryakumar Yadav making a spectacular catch at the long-off boundary to dismiss David Miller, the Proteas’ last hope.
