Indian has not played on Pakistani territory in over 16 years due to the ongoing political unrest between the two neighbours. After seven years, the Men in Green, captained by Babar Azam, returned to India last year to take part in the ODI World Cup. India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan the following year is still uncertain, though.
In 2025, Pakistan will serve as the host nation for the ICC Champions Trophy. India’s involvement in the major event is still up in the air, though. If the players don’t feel secure in Pakistan, Harbhajan Singh believes that India won’t send them there. The renowned off-spinner urged Pakistan to proceed with hosting the multi-nation competition if they believe they can handle their bitter enemies’ non-participation.
“We won’t send the team if our players are not safe in Pakistan. Play if you feel like it, or don’t. Without Pakistan, Indian cricket may continue to thrive. “Do it if you guys can live without Indian cricket,” Harbhajan stated in a video posted on ‘X’, the previous Twitter platform.

Even though he is no longer playing professionally, Harbhajan continues to be active in the many franchise leagues that feature ex-players. He was most recently observed competing in the England World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 event. For the India Champions, the 44-year-old bowled brilliantly in batting-friendly conditions with shorter boundaries.

He took eight wickets at an economy rate of 6.67 and an average of 15 in seven games. On Saturday, July 13, at Edgbaston, Birmingham, India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions to win the championship.
