With the simultaneous announcement of both Sharma and Kohli’s retirement from T20 international cricket, this historic victory marked the end of an era in their remarkable careers in the format.
The Instagram image from the mother of the Indian captain showed an edited picture of Rohit standing next to Kohli, his daughter Samaira on his shoulders. “Daughter on his shoulders, nation on his back, brother by his side,” the caption said, implying that Kohli is Rohit’s family member.
