India will host the men's T20 Asia Cup in 2025

The Men’s Asia Cup T20 competition will be held in India in 2025. In Bangladesh, however, the competition will take place in a 50-over format in 2027.

The Asian Cricket Council’s Invitation for Expressions of Interest for the sponsorship rights document states that six teams—India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan—will play in 13 matches overall in the competition. A qualifying tournament will determine the sixth team.

ACC sources have speculated that it may take place in September, following the conclusion of the country’s monsoon season, though dates have not yet been confirmed.

The 2023–2027 Future Tours Program (FTP) of the International Cricket Council (ICC) indicates that India has a full calendar. The nation will host the Champions Trophy in February and March after playing England in a limited-overs series in January and February.

The team will tour England in June and August after the IPL, and then they will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Bangladesh. As a result, it is expected that the Asia Cup will happen in October, after the Bangladesh series but before the West Indies’ two-match Test series. Sources within the BCCI stated that no decision has yet been made about the potential venues.

The women’s Asia Cup will take place in a T20 format in 2026 instead of a men’s Asian tournament. The men’s U-19 and Emerging Teams Asia Cup will follow.

Last year’s Asia Cup followed a mixed format, with Pakistan hosting a couple of matches at home and India playing all of its matches in Sri Lanka. Under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma, India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to win the title.
