IND vs BAN 2024: India vs Bangladesh, 2nd T20I - Who Said What?

India defeated Bangladesh in Delhi by 86 runs thanks to an impressive all-around performance. They gained an insurmountable advantage going into the third game on Saturday, October 12, thanks to this triumph.

After Suryakumar Yadav and the openers were removed at the conclusion of the powerplay, the hitters put on a brilliant display. After Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag‘s blitzes at the tail end of the innings propelled India to a score of 221/9, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh blasted their way to half-centuries. After being sent to the cleaners in the opening match, Taskin Ahmed came back as the most economical bowler for Bangladesh, scoring 2/16 in his four-over session.

After the first six overs, Bangladesh’s play resembled that of India’s, therefore none of the top-order batsmen could profit from the run chase. But the clear distinction between the two sides was what happened following the powerplay. Because India never eased up on the gas and batters came and went, Bangladesh was never able to forge any lasting alliances.

Mahmudullah, in his farewell T20I series, stayed around for his 41 but could never get going as the hosts eventually won handily.

Indian openers again fall short of the mark

Similar to the opening T20I Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma left the game following a barrage of boundaries. During a powerplay, both of them blew their chances to score big runs on a flat track where the ball was traveling off the bat.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is torn apart by Reddy.

After scoring his first-ever fifty runs in an international match, the all-round batsman was far from finished. In the 13th over of the Indian innings, three enormous maximums surrounded a drilled boundary, displaying his most colorful fireworks to date.

The hosts’ bowling effort was truly collaborative.

India employed seven bowlers in all. Varun Chakravarthy and Reddy were the only two bowlers to remove several batters, dazzling everyone once more with their bowling, and all seven of them were in the wickets column.

Losing skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto

I think we made the same mistakes (like the first game), not a good thing as a team. We need to improve. I think it was a good decision (to bowl). They batted well after the first 6-7 overs, we didn’t execute our plans. Need to take responsibilites as batters. We got to believe in ourselves.

Winning skipper, Suryakumar Yadav

I wanted that situation, wanted my batters (5,6,7) in that situation. Happy for both (Rinku and Nitish) of them. They batted exactly the way I wanted. You got to go out there and express. Just the jersey changes, rest remaining remains the same. I wanted to see what different bowlers can do in different situations.

Player of the Match, Nitish Kumar Reddy

Feels great to represent India, feel so proud about this moment. Grateful for everything. I should give credit to captain and coach. They gave me the licence. I took my time, after that no-ball, everything went in my favour. It feels great, playing for the Indian team. I want to continue in this same way.
