India vs. Australia in the WTC Final: Squads, Schedule, Venue, and Broadcasters

In the momentous 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) Final at The Oval, the Indian players will be seeking redemption against the formidable Australian squad. While India won a memorable Test series against Australia earlier this year, Pat Cummins’ side will seek to reclaim its position at the top of red-ball cricket.

The Indian team, which lost the inaugural tournament final to New Zealand earlier this year, qualified for the final after Sri Lanka’s thrilling defeat to tournament holders New Zealand earlier this year. In the meantime, a dominant Australian team reached the final for the first time after narrowly missing out the previous year.

While India will seek to draw inspiration from their Border-Gavaskar Trophy victory over Australia, they are missing several key players due to unfortunate injuries for the title match. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul’s absence have further depleted the Indians, as if Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah’s injuries weren’t terrible enough.

Dukes’ Playing Conditions for the WTC Final Ball

What happens if the match concludes in a tie? India and Australia have been declared joint champions of the tournament.

Exists a reserve day? – The 12th of June has been designated as the backup date for the WTC final. The reserve day will be utilized to compensate for time lost during the initial five days. On the reserved day allotted, a maximum of 98 overs may be bowled.

What about continuation? – Due to the provision of a reserve day, the team dominating the innings by 200 runs or more will have the option to enforce the follow-on in a five-day contest. However, it will be reduced to 150 runs if the match becomes a four- or three-day affair, even with the reserve day included.

In the event of a short run, the third umpire will communicate with the on-field umpires to examine the decision.
