India vs. Australia, Fourth Twenty20 International: Player Records and Approaching Milestones in Stats

Glenn Maxwell’s valiant efforts led to Australia’s thrilling victory over India in Guwahati. Maxwell earned a century for himself and helped the World Champions establish themselves early in this five-match Twenty20 International series. The fourth Twenty20 international match between the two teams will take place at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on Friday, December 1, 2023.

With the help of Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (39), and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s scorching century, the Men in Blue amassed a dominant 222 for three in the 20 overs that were given to them. Australia’s best bowler, Jason Behrendorff, returned with a spell of 1/12 in his four overs. With one wicket to his name and 64 runs conceded, Aaron Hardie had a forgettable day.

Travis Head gave India’s daunting 222 a strong start with a fast-bowling 35 off 18 balls. After that, Glenn Maxwell played a brilliant innings, hitting eight fours and eight sixes on route to a century at an incredible strike rate of over 200. Australia won because to a brilliant knock from Maxwell and a cameo from Matthew Wade, who scored 28 off of 16 balls. Australia ended up winning the match by a five-wicket margin. Maxwell’s match-winning 104*(48) earned him the Player of the Match title.

Next up, Australia will try to tie the series before the last Twenty20 International in Bengaluru. Australia announced significant changes as Josh McDermott, Josh Philippe, Chris Green, and Ben Dwarshuis joined the Australian team for the final two Twenty20 Internationals. Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Steven Smith, and Adam Zampa are back at home.

In the interim, before India and Australia play their fourth Twenty20 International, here are some significant figures and statistics:

Head-to-Head: In 29 Twenty20 Internationals between the two teams, India has won 17 while Australia has claimed 11 of the matches with one ending in a tie. Australia has won five of the 13 matches played in India, while the hosts have won eight of them.

Six – Travis Head (94), in order to reach 100 International sixes, needs six maximums.

1. In Twenty20 matches, Tanveer Sangha (49) is one wicket shy from reaching 50 wickets.

In T20 internationals, Matthew Wade (49), needs one grab to reach 50 catches.

7–Ruturaj Gaikwad (3993) requires 7 runs to get 4000 runs in Twenty20 cricket.

21 runs are needed for Suryakumar Yadav (1979) to reach 2000 T20I runs.

Thirteen runs separate Tilak Varma (1987) from reaching the historic mark of 2000 runs in Twenty20 matches.

Tim David (3909) has to score 91 runs in order to reach 4000 T20 runs.

5 – To reach 50 T20I wickets, Kane Richardson, 45, has to take five wickets.

5-Tilak Varma (95) requires five sixes to finish 100 sixes in twenty-two seconds.

4-Ishan Kishan (1966) requires four sixes to finish 200 sixes in a Twenty20 match.
