India Scores Its Largest-Ever Victory in One-Day International History; Here's How the Rest of the World Reacted

In the third and final one-day international of the three-game series, which took place on Sunday, Team India had a remarkable performance by dominating Sri Lanka by an enormous margin of 317 runs.

Because of this victory, the team captained by Rohit Sharma took the series with a perfect 3-0 record, and they also set a new record for the most runs scored in a single 50-over game.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill hit 166* and 116 runs, respectively, to help Team India register a massive total of 390/5 when they were given the opportunity to bat first.

While this was only Gill’s second century in ODI play, it was Virat’s 46th century overall. Later on, Mohammed Siraj excelled with the ball and was responsible for bowling Sri Lanka out for 73 runs after taking four wickets.

People from all walks of life took to Twitter after Team India registered a historic win at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram and congratulated the team for achieving such a landmark. Rohit Sharma was the captain of the team that achieved the victory, which was led by people from all walks of life.

“What an absolutely dominant performance by India in the last one-day international and throughout the series! Even by his lofty standards, Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 166 in white-ball cricket was remarkable. It is good to see Kohli back to his best form in all forms of the game.

The elegance and beautiful strokeplay that Shubman Gill displays continue to be impressive “tweet from the head coach of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), VVS Laxman.

What an absolutely dominant performance by India in the last one-day international and throughout the series! This undefeated 166 was remarkable even by his lofty standards and it was amazing to see Virat Kohli back to his best in white-ball cricket. Shubman Gill’s composure and attractive strokeplay continue to be a source of admiration.

Virat Kohli came into the contest and lit up the dead rubber with an incredible 166 not out. This was his third century in four innings, and it helped India destroy a hapless Sri Lanka with a record 317-run triumph in the third ODI here on Sunday to sweep the series.

Before Kohli (166 not out off 110) powered India to a daunting 390 for five with his 74th international hundred and 46th in the 50-over format, Skipper Rohit Sharma (42 off 49) and Shubman Gill (116 off 97) exchanged a smooth 95-run opening stand.

Mohammad Siraj’s high-quality quick bowling was enough to take down Sri Lanka, and he did it within the first ten overs of the match. This effectively ended the match and eliminated the competition. The gap between the two teams was highlighted by the fact that Sri Lanka was bowled out for a paltry 73 runs in 22 overs.
