India has an advantage in the Women's T20 World Cup because they are familiar with the conditions in the UAE- Mithali Raj

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to commence on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates. India, placed in Group A, will be tussling with New Zealand in their first league game. Notably, the event was shifted from Bangladesh to UAE due to ongoing political tensions in the country.

Notably, because of the country’s continuing political unrest, the event was moved from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates.

The team has undergone a number of tactical adjustments as a result of the venue change. Sri Lanka lost a pacer to the UAE decks, which are known to help spinners. However, India has remained with their lineup, and according to former Indiaskipper Mithali Raj, the UAE’s climate could work in the Women in Blue’s favour.

India Women have never before taken home a T20 World Cup trophy

“Like everyone else, I’m sure I’ll want the team to perform well since we all want to see our team win the World Cup. With the exception of the Under-19 World Cup, the Indian women’s team has yet to win anything. We may say that our squad has the advantage because the UAE is once again in very similar circumstances, Mithali stated in an interview with Star Sports.

“But once more, every team travels to the World Cup well-prepared. I believe I just covered the Asia Cup for women’s cricket as a broadcaster, and India was eliminated. In that sense, I’m not sure if that’s fortunate or not,” she continued.

The event in the women’s arena is currently in its ninth edition. The team made it to one championship final, but Australia defeated them in 2020. Conversely, Australia is the reigning winners and have set a record six times in this competition.
