India-Bangladesh Tour Deferred

In August 2025, India was scheduled to play Bangladesh in three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is. The games were supposed to take place at Chattogram and Mirpur. On July 5, 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the trip has been formally rescheduled for September 2026.

International calendar congestion and the practical difficulties faced by both countries were cited as the reasons for the postponing.

The precise dates of the matches were revealed on Friday, January 2, although it was already stated that India would play Bangladesh in September.

The ODI matches are now set for September 1, 3, and 6, and the Indian team is now expected to land in Bangladesh on August 28. Before the neighbours go home, the T20Is will be played on September 9, 12, and 13.

Bangladesh’s home international schedule for the 2026 season was revealed by the BCB on Friday. The schedule includes bilateral series in all three formats against Pakistan, New Zealand, India, Australia, and the West Indies.

“The confirmed itinerary ensures a season full of international cricket in Bangladesh, providing supporters across the country the opportunity to watch top-level cricket at home while details of match venues will be announced in due course,” the Bangladesh Cricket Board said in a statement.

On March 9, Pakistan will go to Bangladesh to play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) from March 12 to 16. New Zealand’s April-May white-ball tour of Bangladesh will begin with three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on April 17 and an equal number of Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) on April 27 and May 2.

As part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–2027 cycle, Pakistan will return to play two Test matches. The dates of the first and second red-ball matches are May 8–12 and May 16–20, respectively.

Three ODIs will begin Australia’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh on June 5. The three-match T20I series is scheduled to take place between June 15 and June 20.

Bangladesh will host India before facing the West Indies, another WTC team, in a two-match Test series. Prior to this match, there will be a warm-up game scheduled for October 22–24. The first Test will take place between October 28 and November 1, while the second will take place between November 5 and November 9.

In May 2026, the Sri Lanka A squad will go to Bangladesh to play a series against the hosts, which will consist of three one-day games and two four-day matches.

Last month, the women of Bangladesh were scheduled to travel to India to play Harmanpreet Kaur and company. But in November 2025, the BCCI notified the BCB that the tour would be postponed. When that rubber would be organised is still unclear.
